Athlete: Hayley Lewis (aka: Penfold or Wicket!)
How long have you been in Triathlon: I have been part of triathlon for just over a year now.
What is your background: I was originally a swimmer specifically a backstroker.
Greatest achievement outside Triathlon: Other than making it into the state team for triathlon, I’ve also was able to make it into the state indigenous football team.
Why do you do Triathlon: I do triathlon because I believe that it’s a sport that is not just difficult and challenging but a sport that shows peoples talents in 3 different legs and you can meet some of the most incredible and inspirational people.
What attracted you to F4L: I have always wanted to try a triathlon and I searched for coaches and the first one popped up was Paul at F4L Triathlon & Endurance so I went to go check it out. As I walked in to my first training session I straight away new this was the right club for me just from seeing all the smiles on people’s faces.
What are your targets: My target will hopefully to be able to make it into the state team for triathlon again and from that I would like to see what the future holds.
Sum up F4L (in one line!): F4L is the most enthusiastic, happiest training group I’ve ever seen. It has some of the most inspirational people I’ve ever met and it’s not just a training group but also feels like my second family.
