James started swimming with F4L Triathlon Coaching. This summer James was due to take part in the Lakesman Triathlon which got cancelled due to COVID-19. However, Kate and I supported James as he completed an IRONMAN distance challenge at home for charity. He now has bigger challenges and wants to develop his performance…
Why do you do Triathlon:
I started Triathlon soon after I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (a type of bowl disease) to prove it wouldn’t stop me. As happens, I got the bug and found out I love everything about Triathlon. The joy of training. The buzz of race day. The opportunity to really push myself and learn. Most of all, the camaraderie that comes with this sport.
What is your sporting back ground:
Golf!!!!
What attracted you to F4L:
I’ve been a regular at F4L swim coaching for a while. Paul’s enthusiasm to help everyone improve – from beginners to seasoned triathletes is infectious.
What are your targets:
Two full distance races next year – Lakesman and Ironman Barcelona. After that, I would love to make a GB age group team.
Favourite motivational quote:
All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the morning to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people. For they dream their dreams with open eyes, and make them come true.
